Say It Twice

For seven years Kilbride has guarded Orla Callaghan, called her Miss Callaghan and never touched her. She has tried everything. She is the boss's daughter, and he is her father's man. Tonight she leaves for a job in Lisbon, but an ice storm has grounded the jet. They wait in the armored car in an empty hangar, and the cold gets under the green silk she wore for him. She asks him to come with her. He doesn't answer. He gets into the back seat instead, with one condition. She says yes. He makes her say it twice.
